First race was held at NASA - SE's 2017 Savanna Sizzler
Jim Pantas and Johnny Cichowski Ran 1.6L powered Miata karts on Savannas Robeling Road Raceway. Surprising was the name of the game as nobody knew what to expect to such a historic duel. Biggest surprise was the top speed of both cars was near identical at 99mph, this is despite the fact that Jim's Kart was 100lbs lighter. Both cars raced around collecting lap times in the 1:31- 1:32 range. The Sunday's race victor was Jim Pantas with a lap time of 1:31.0, second place went to Johnny Cichowski's "Miata Bouncer" with a lap time of 1:31.8. The next big surprise from the battle was Jim Forgot to hit record on his camera. onward to CMP.
