Rules.


Welcome to the Rules!

Before we dig into what is and isn't allowed in classes, we must state that we follow all safety rules Put forth by NASA Club Codes and Regulations (link here https://www.nasaproracing.com/rules) The CCR takes president over our rules.

Example: If we say you don't need window nets, and the ccr says you do... buy a window net. 


Rule 1) You are not allowed to take performance seriously. Just have fun!

Rule 1.1) Your not here to "go pro" if you want that go Spec Miata, or E30 racing.

Rule 1.2)  No crew actions allowed in hot pits

Rule 1.3)  The only  "performance" adjustments allowed during race weekend. are tire pressures, and rear swaybar... but that's it! leave your scales at home.

Rule 1.4) You are allowed to make changes to a vehicle if the modification is considered Mandatory to the safety of the driver and competitors. If your car is trying to kill you or anyone else you are allowed to fix whatever issue is causing that. 

Rule 1.5) You are allowed to do maintenance on vehicles to fix broken parts. 

Rule 1.6) You are allowed to add more drag generating devices or restrict power to meet your classes top speed (see Rule 6)     


Drivers that work into the night to make the car lap faster will be deemed "taking it too seriously", a violation of rule 1, and their times will be disqualified


Rule 2) Bodywork 


Rule 2.1) No Body panels are allowed, Except for windshields, number cards, and fenders. 
Rule 2.2) You must have a windshield that is stock height and width. It must be able to protect the driver from flying debris.
Rule 2.2.1) Lexan windows to be added if the factory windshield has been removed.  
Rule 2.3) Wings are ok to use, they add more aero drag. 
Rule 2.4) Have somewhere on the car able to display a 12" number to a corner worker 50ft away. 

Drivers that show up with boddy pannels will be deemed "taking it too seriously", a violation of rule 1, and their times will be disqualified


Rule 4) Tires 

Rule 4.1) Tires must have a higher tread rating than 100(qutg)

A little heads up we might switch to a spec tire of the maxxis rc-1, so if you haven't bought tires yet, get those.  Link for RC-1 here  http://shop.maxxis.com/c/automotive_victra-rc-1   

Drivers that show up with tires less than 100QUTG will be deemed "taking it too seriously", a violation of rule 1, and their times will be disqualified

Rule 5) Classes

Rule 5.1) All cars will be broken up into 2 classes. Spec Exo, and Spec Kart.
Rule 5.1.1) Spec Ghetto shall include cars with an aero limited top speed of 45-105mph. 
Rule 5.1.2) Spec Kart will include vehicles with an aero speed of 105-150mph 
  
Drivers that show up with top speeds over 150mph will be deemed "taking it too seriously", a violation of rule 1, and their times will be disqualified
   


Rule 6) Determining Aero Limited Top Speed. 

Rule 6.1) By request of any official or another driver, all drivers must be able to provide a lap timer that shows top speed from a session. Only laps performed without a draft will be considered.

Rule 7) Protesting and punishment. 
Rule 7.1) Any competitor can protest up to 2 times in a weekend max. 

Rule 7.2) Protests are to be made to the TT Race Director.

Rule 7.3) Any driver in violation of the rules will have their times disqualified for the day. 

Rule 7.4) Taking it too seriously protest will be voted on by fellow competitors. Only a vote of 2/3rds (66%) of fellow competitors will stand. If accused is ruled guilty of "taking it too seriously" their time will be disqualified for one day, and they will take the last place points.
